about

This was not the first time I recorded an album on my own, it was the fourth, but in many ways it's my first real "solo" album. The first two were basically teenage learning experiences. The third was recorded in a weekend and only released to a couple of friends. All three were produced while my musical energy was primarily devoted to another band, The Lavone. "The Context" was the moment I broke away from my past and started to carve out my own musical and personal identity.

The six songs here may not be my best, but I'm partial to them because this little album was kind of a big deal for me at the time.
